The first section of Draycott Place dates from the 1820s.

Blacklands House was demolished at the end of the 1880s, making way for the tall red brick terraces of Draycott Place.

Draycott Place was probably named for Anne Marian Draycott who married Sir Francis Shuckburgh, the lessee of nearby Blacklands House.
