Lubeck Street - at first called Lawn Street - dated from 1878.

The first name - Lawn Street - took its name from the Lawn on East Hill, Wandsworth, the home of William Willmer Pocock (1813-99), architect and developer of the estate.

Lubeck - the new name - is a Hanseatic port in northern Germany with no known Battersea connection.

Lubeck Street was hit by a V1 rocket with every house in the street very badly damaged. In 1959, the Falcon Terrace Estate was built.
