Mrs Prisca or Priscilla Coborn, Coburn or Colborne was a benefactor to the original parish of Stepney and to Bow in particular.
By her will of 1701 she left a fund for the benefit of seamen’s widows, to be taken from the income of her manor of Covill Hall, White Roding, Essex. She also left an annuity to the clergy and poor of Bow, and money for a schoolmaster and his wife to teach 50 poor children. These were supported by land here, north of Bow Road. The school was built west of Old Ford Road.
