Crooms Hill runs along the western edge of Blackheath.
Crooms Hill in Greenwich is thought to be the oldest named road in London. It was first recorded in the 10th century and is likely to come from the Saxon word ’crom’ or ’crum’ meaning crooked, due to its shape.
