Leinster Square, along with Prince’s Square, was begun in 1856 and finished in 1864
Leinster Square is largely the work of the builder/speculator George Wyatt. War damage in the London Blitz was repaired with houses rebuilt to match the original terraces.
The plane trees dominating the (private) garden date from the creation of the square with the middle tree planted on 26 February 1887 for Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. In 1977, the garden underwent refurbishment.
