Amiel Street, E1

Amiel Street is one of ten streets commemorating Stepney residents killed in the air raids of the Second World War.

Ameil Street was part of the redevelopment of what was Devonshire Street.

The names of the ten street were chosen by lot and approved in 1948. The others are Colebert Avenue, Fox Close, Gibson Close, Ibbott Street, Lang Street, Mantus Close, Pemell Close, Rickman Street and Stothard Street.
