Sainsbury's opened its first depot in Langford Mews, Kentish Town around 1880.

This was where Sainsbury's smoked bacon and had stabling and warehouses to supply the growing chain of Sainsbury stores until the Company's headquarters moved to Blackfriars in 1891.
