Green Man, Muswell Hill

The Green Man Public House was built on the site of a medieval alehouse mentioned in records of 1552. These historical associations, and the continuous use of the site as a hostelry, have resulted in it becoming a local landmark.

The photograph shows a late 17th or early 18th Century low two storey brick building with a plain clay tiled roof and three brick stringcourse that had been ‘modernised' by the introduction of sash windows and a canted bay window through both floors on which the pub signs have been mounted.
