Royal Mint Street began its life as Rosemary Lane.
Rosemary Lane (originally Hog Lane) had been the western extension of Cable Street, leading from the junction with Dock Street and Leman Street towards the Tower of London. Rosemary Lane was renamed Royal Mint Street in 1850.
