Loughborough Estate, SW9
Brixton
The Loughborough Estate was built in two stages on a badly bomb-damaged site between Brixton and Camberwell.

The first phase of the Loughborough Estate was designed for the London County Council in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War. The second phase of development was built between 1954 and 1957.

The estate features rows of 11-storey tower blocks around Barrington Road.

The area is still known as ’Angell Town’, after the original 19th century development by a Benedict John Angell.
