Potters Lane leads from Shenley Road to Well End. At the Borehamwood end, the Nicolas Hawkesmoor school, now Hertwsood Academy, was situated at the corner before the lane became a single track road as it ran eastwards.
In the 1970s the backlot of MGM studios, which formed the southern boundary of the most of the lane was sold off for housing development and after that, the character of the lane changed to a more urban feel.
