Pine Road, NW2
Smiths of Cricklewood
Pine Road continued a tradition of local roads named after trees.

Prior to development, much of the land to the west of Edgware Road was part of the All Souls College, Oxford estate and was covered in woodland. As of 1662, there were 79 oak trees in Cricklewood. The area began to transform with the opening of the Willesden Green underground station in 1879, which was known as Willesden Green and Cricklewood station from 1894 to 1938.

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, several developers acquired land in the area and constructed houses. George Furness developed what he called Cricklewood Park between 1893 and 1900 on Clock Farm. Streets in this area were named after trees, such as Pine, Larch, Cedar, Ivy and Olive. The name Cricklewood Park is no longer in use.
