Acacia Road, NW8
St Johns Wood tube station

One of the oft-repeated London underground memes is that St John’s Wood shares no letters in common with mackerel. To be fair, Hoxton on the London Overground also doesn’t...

Acacia Road dates from the 1830s.

Acacia Road was built along the south side of St John’s Wood farmyard after nearby Elm Tree Road, Oak Tree Road and Avenue Road were already built.

There may have been a large acacia tree on the corner with Finchley Road.
