Albert Road was completed in 1868.

Albert Road was built between 1866 and 1868 by the Metropolitan Association for Improving the Dwellings of the Industrial Classes.

The Association was innovative in building semi-detached houses with gardens so early, rather than traditional terraces.

They were intended as low cost housing for London workers, being so close to the various Penge stations, although local workers were also accommodated.
