Achilles Way, W1K
Hyde Park Corner
Achilles Way is named for the nearby Wellington as Achilles statue in Hyde Park.

The road was formed in 1962 as part of Park Lane’s new dual-carriageway system. The Achilles statue was commissioned by the "ladies of Britain" as a tribute to the strength and glory of the Duke of Wellington. When it was unveiled in 1822 as England’s first male nude statue, public outcry was such that this part of the Park became quite unfashionable.
