Wardour Street, W1D

Another part of Wardour Street runs north of Shaftesbury Avenue.

Chinatown’s fourth gate on Wardour Street was completed in 2016, and built in traditional Qing Dynasty style. It is the largest oriental gate in the country. Chinatown has buildings and streets decorated with symbols such as dragons and lanterns. Local street signs are written in both English and Chinese.

Wardour Street was ultimately named after local 17th century landowners, the Wardour family.
