Plough and Harrow, TW6

Heathrow Road was a little rural lane running through market gardens between the Bath Road and Perry Oaks. Halfway way along its length was the Plough and Harrow pub. In the 1930s it was run by a Mr Basham, an ex-policeman.

It was demolished in 1944 as plans were drawn up for a larger airport to replace the existing London Airport at Croydon.

Its site is possibly one of the most altered locations in the London area – you can visit the site of the pub by walking to the location of WH Smith in Terminal 2 Arrivals, Heathrow.
