Mozart Street, W10

The last of the fields north of the Harrow Road was developed by the United Land Company who gave their streets rather grand names such as Beethoven Street and Mozart Street. The earlier phase of the Queen’s Park Estate had occurred in the 1870s and the names there were less creative – numbered avenues and streets with names beginning with different letters of the alphabet.

Another nearby street is named Herries Street after the Rt Hon John Herries, a member of the Victorian Commission for Improving the Metropolis.
