South Ealing to Northfields walk

This was the very first walk that I did. Before lockdown, I was living locally in South Ealing and I was aware that you could quickly walk between South Ealing and Northfields stations but I didn’t know why there were close together.

The global pandemic significantly changed my life. I ended up leaving my job and thus my London world and spent the following year in the Netherlands, not able to leave the house much. On my first trip back to London after eighteen months, in August 2021, I visited my former Ealing home to pick up my leftover belongings. And I, for some reason, videoed this walk.

A weird project developed which would not restart before a further trip back to the Big Smoke, a visit to Chesham in March 2022 and a rural walk to Chalfont and Latimer. After that, walking London became “what I did”.

Anyhow, let’s begin this one…

South Ealing station is on South Ealing Road.

We take a right out of the station and immediately right into Airedale Road.

You can take a short detour right into Weymouth Avenue (we did) to take a look at the location of a lost entrance to Northfields station.

But if you don’t – or even if you did – Airedale Road becomes Bramley Road before it reaches Northfield Avenue at a T junction. Take a right and you reach Northfields station.
