A Clarkson Steam Bus, operated by the National Steam Car Company which ran steam buses in London from 1909 to 1919. From Peckham Rye to Shepherd’s Bush, this route was eventually replaced by the No. 12 bus. The old Peckham bus garage was opposite the Tyrrell Arms on Peckham Rye. P.S. Prince Albert, Consort Road SE15 (1902) In a fit of inappropriate renaming, the Prince Albert was renamed ’The Shergar’ in 1981 and then the ’Spotted Frog’ in 1998. Later it became a delicatessen and a restaurant.
