The Great Northern Railway’s High Barnet station (1911) This became the Northern Line station and while the infamous steep footpath remains, the position of the station at the very southern limit of the area of Chipping Barnet doesn’t remain. Barnet’s spreading urbanisation overtook the countryside visible here
